“The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” or “Mummy 3” as it is known to its many fans is set to be released in the U.S. on August 1, 2008. In the Far East, father and son duo Rick and Alex O’Connell continue their adventures when they unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin.

Agent 007’s newest adventure, “Quantum of Solace” has a U.S. release date of November 7, 2008. Quantum of Solace continues the high octane adventures of James Bond. Mr. “shaken, not stirred” is once again on an exciting mission full of betrayal, deceit and sinister turns where he must stay one step ahead of the CIA, terrorists and others.
So what do these two movies have in common? The answer is Innovative Logistics.
Sure, both movies are jam-packed with exciting scenes but how did all of those props and materials arrive at the filming locations? Experience, flexibility and responsiveness were reasons why Innovative was chosen to move Intermodal shipments from Canada to Burbank/Hollywood, CA for the “Mummy” movie. Same goes for “007” as Innovative continued to “roll out the red carpet” by moving those fast jet boats you see in the movie, on flatbeds from Idaho to Florida, along with the larger, oversized camera boats (that drive alongside the jet boats to film the actual scenes), on stepdecks to Florida. Innovative also repositioned containers from the Burbank, CA studios to Florida, moved “cast” trailers (for cast and crew) from Florida to Virginia, and shipped containers (for special effects) from Texas to California.
With all of their hard work and contributions to the movie industry, it makes you wonder if any of Innovative’s employees are “extras” in these two movies. Look beneath the mummy bandages and check out who’s driving one of the 007 jet boats. Nah, it couldn’t be. Or could it? What do you think?

Captain Jack Sparrow and Will Turner captured our hearts and imagination in Walt Disney’s 2003 “Pirates of the Caribbean, The Curse of the Black Pearl”, their 2006 sequel “Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Man’s Chest”, and their 2007 sequel, “Pirates of the Caribbean, At Worlds End”.
So how did all those props, ships, costumes and massive amounts of construction materials get to the filming locations?
Chosen for their experience and responsiveness, Innovative Logistics (Cornerstone Systems agent) moved flatbed and intermodal shipments from Disney’s production studios in Burbank, CA and Sun Valley, CA to port destinations in Florida where they departed via vessel to the Caribbean. Specialized loads from Oregon and Washington also shipped to destinations such as Rhode Island and Alabama. Items ranged from 60-foot pirate ship masts, to swashbuckling swords and costumes, to construction materials that were used to build new pirate ships and set props, along with small landing boats that launched from various ships. Innovative Logistics coordinated freight shipments for Disney’s entire Pirates of the Caribbean series, Pirates I, II and III. So is Bob Cook on a first name basis with Captain Jack Sparrow and Will Turner? He’ll walk the plank before he’ll spill. Will he share the treasured secret of whether another Pirate sequel will be filmed? In the words of the notorious Captain Barbossa….”I’m afraid I’m disinclined to acquiesce to your request”....

The gold rush changed Alaska, its people and frontier, forever. Thousands of prospectors flooded the area, beginning in the late 1890’s, dreaming of riches and the good life. The hunt for gold continues today with amateurs panning for gold in state parks, and professionals working large deposits of gold in open-pit and underground mines.
When one of the older mines closed, Innovative Logistics was called upon to help re-locate some of the oversized gold mining equipment to the states. Once the oversized units were shipped from Alaska to the Port of Tacoma, Innovative utilized stepdecks to move the equipment to the “lower 48”. Special permits and escorts were required and all moved smoothly.
