Ray Robert (Bob) Cook, Jr. President, Innovative Logistics
Bob Cook, the company’s founder and President, helped load boxes into his first truck at the age of 8 while working for his father’s company Arctic Container Services in Seattle, Washington. He spent every summer working the docks in Seattle, from 12 years old and up, unloading/loading trucks for consolidated shipments destined for Alaska. You could say Bob has transportation in his blood. He started learning early, and today he continues to carry on the family tradition with Innovative Logistics.
In 1987, Bob moved to Alaska taking a sales position with Alaska Freight and Consolidators to learn the Alaskan trade in depth. He continued his quest for knowledge and experience in 1990 when he returned to Seattle by accepting a sales position with Intermodal Sales. Like his father, Bob felt the pull to own his own company. His passion for the world of freight, his love of the Pacific Northwest region and this strong desire all peaked in 1995 when Arctic Transportation Services was born. Located in Anchorage, Alaska, Bob focused on Intermodal, Truck and Ocean shipments moving to/from Alaska and the “lower 48”. As business grew, Bob expanded his services and scope in 2000 by relocating the company to Seattle and changing its name to Innovative Logistics.
Innovative Logistics offers Intermodal, Truck, Railcar & Railcar Consolidation, Warehousing & Transloading Services, On-Site Logistics, Special Projects Expertise and more. Innovative Logistics initial focus on the Pacific Northwest region has expanded to all of North America. Now also an agency representing Cornerstone Systems, Innovative Logistics credits its success to “moving freight, but delivering service”. In 2004, Bob relocated Innovative Logistics corporate office to Memphis, Tennessee in the heart of the nation’s distribution center.
